State of Emergency

Just wanted to post, for those who are not aware, that Kentucky is in a state of emergency. Western Kentucky got hit pretty hard. Many families have been without power since Tuesday. The ice storm has damaged the power lines and many roads are not crossable due to the tree limbs/debris. Please keep the families in Kentucky in your prayers.

Shot time again, yuck

Isaac went today for his 6 month well check doctor's visit, which also included 3 shots and an oral immunization. We got a good report. The ears still look clear and there is no sign of infection!!! He now is 27 inches in height (which is in the 60 percentile), weighs 15 pounds 14 ounces (13%), and has a head size of 43.5 (32%).
I just recently found out that if you multiply a 2-year-old's height by 2, then that is an approximation of what their height will be as an adult. (Just thought that was interesting)!

Snip-Snip

The time has finally come.... and we have waited about 3 months too long. We finally gave Isaac a haircut a couple weeks ago. He did very well. He cooperated and was fascinated by the mirror. He is a busy body though, so it was hard to keep him steady. I held him while Adam cut his hair. He had about an inch to cut off around his ears. He looks like such a little boy now (it's kind of sad). Here are some pics of Isaac before the haircut and some of him sporting his new hairdo.

A Merry Christmas it was!

We had a wonderful 1st Christmas with our new little addition to the family! Isaac is continuing to be more animated. He is smiling and laughing a lot now. At Christmas, we was able to sit up by himself to open gifts and play with toys. We were surprised at how much he was able to participate. He would lunge for the gifts. He liked the wrapping paper, then enjoyed playing with the boxes, and finally, after taking the boxes out of his reach, he enjoyed his new toys. We just can't believe how fast he is growing. He loves to "walk" around (of course he has to be holding our hands in order to walk, but he moves his feet on his own). We really enjoyed spending time with our family! Isaac was really excited to meet John and Rebecca for the first time!

Even though Isaac is too young to understand the true meaning of Christmas, we pray that in the next several years to come...he will know that Christmas is about JESUS! Thanks Uncle Eric for our Christmas Eve devotion. We are so thankful for all the people in Isaac's life who will impact him. We love you all!
