Halloween Fun!

Isaac, our little 27 month-old monkey, had a great Halloween this year! Halloween was on Sunday this year. All of our festivities began by going to the WKU football game, where Isaac dressed up as a monkey and the family dressed up as Gilligan's Island, in order to participate in the costume competition. I'm sure there were little monkeys on Gilligan's Island....and he was a cute one! We actually won the competition, and Isaac received a signed football by Willie Taggert (WKU's football coach).
After the football game, we went to visit Grampie and Grandmama, so they could see the little monkey. There we got to visit with RG, Nanny, Karen, and Sterling. It was so good to see everyone. Then on Sunday afternoon, our town was having their Trick-or-Treating. At first, Isaac didn't seem too excited about the idea of putting on his monkey costume again. However, once he got a good nap and started hearing our doorbell ring, he wanted to see what all the commotion was about. I took him outside, and he said "look at all the peoples." After that, he was ready. Daddy and I took him around the neighborhood so he could get a good Trick-or-Treating experience. He actually said "Trick-or-Treat" this year, and "thank you" after he received his candy...of course with some prompting. Many of the people in our neighborhood were just sitting out in their driveways with their candy bowls, because it was unseasonable warm this year.
Isaac really enjoyed the experience, and did not want to take off his monkey costume. Of all the candy in his pumpkin, the Dum-Dum suckers were his top choice, followed by fruit snacks and smarties.
It was a great Halloween, and the first one where Daddy and I both got to experience Trick-or-Treating with our little fella as a family.
