10 month update

Okay, so I know it sounds like I have said this before, but Isaac is really on the move now. He does not crawl at all now (he wants to be a big boy). He is into anything he can possibly get into. Anytime he can make his way into a bathroom, he enjoys unrolling the toilet paper and carrying around the plunger. His favorite toy seems to be wheels right now. Any wheel he can touch, he will just spin and spin for long periods of time. He is just so fascinated with them. We think he gets his interest in wheels from his Grampie (who worked as a mechanic for years). He loves looking in all the cabinets and pulling out random items. He loves playing in the grass. He pulls out some grass, and of course, tries to put it in his mouth. He just cracks up when we blow the dandelions. He has five teeth, and his left middle front tooth should be in soon. I just love his little smile. So, anything he can put in his mouth, he does.
He is starting to play games more with us now. He loves Peek-a-boo, Patty Cake, and This Little Piggy. It makes me laugh just thinking of him. Sometimes as soon as he sees me, he just takes off in the opposite direction. He wants me to chase him. It's his own game of chase that he likes to initiate. It is so cute, but makes me nervous sometimes. When he really starts running, I'm going to have my hands full for sure. He also likes throwing balls (I think his Grandad got him started on that).
Eating is a challenge. As we are trying to transition him to table foods, he just spits them out or throws them in the floor. The doctor wants us to get him eating more, but he is strong-willed. He definitely lets us know when he's finished. I think he'd be just happy eating carbs the rest of his life. It seems carbs are the only table foods he will eat. He loves grilled cheese sandwiches, crackers, bread, oatmeal, yogurt, and cheese. He really wants to be independent, so any foods that he cannot feed himself, he is just bored with. We are trying to transition him to formula, but it is not going so well. The doctor said we could try Sweet Acidophilus milk, and he seems to be liking that some better...time will tell. He does love drinking through a straw, which has helped entertain him at the dinner table many times.
He is just such a joy. His little personality is really starting to show now. He waves at everyone. He is babbling a lot, but is saying Mama now...a lot actually. Adam and I are so entertained by our little guy. His name "Isaac" means "he will laugh," and that he does. Things that make Isaac really laugh hard are: blowing his belly, dandelions, Peek-a-boo, jumping out and startling him, throwing pillows at him, and bumping the top of our heads into his belly. His laugh is so precious to us (especially after all the discomfort and crying he went through the first few months of life). We are so blessed and thankful to God for our little boy.
