Isaac is 19 months old and his little personality is continuing to show. He is doing and saying something new everyday. It is such a joy to watch him grow and develop. He keeps me on my toes as I am never sure what he will do or say next. He definitely has a mind of his own and knows what he wants and does not want. For example, when I am trying to get him to eat, if he does not want a particular food, he just covers his face with his hands and shakes his head "no." When he is hungry, he will just go into the kitchen, pull out the chair at the the table, and climb up into his seat (that is attached to the table). If I am trying to give him medicine or brush his teeth when he does not want me to, he will just put all his fingers in his mouth (although I have to admit, he does a very good job usually of letting me give him medicine and brush his teeth).

Once again we have battled with ear infections this month. Poor guy, I hate for him to be on antibiotics all the time. We have recently noticed that he has a little wart on his pinkie. Isaac knows that it is not something that has always been there, so he tends to pick at it or bite it. He says "hand hurt." Isaac has also started having some dry skin issues on his cheeks. The right cheek tends to look raw at times. Hopefully it's nothing Cetaphil, lotion, and a humidifier won't help. Little man got bit for the first time this month by another little boy at preschool. He had a small open sore on his upper arm, but seems to be healing well. Isaac is definitely getting taller, and we are thankful he is growing! We are continually amazed with how strong he is for such a little fella. He can hang from monkey bars by himself, which is impressive at this age. He loves going to the park, and has mastered the tallest slide (which is about 15 feet high).

My favorite thing Isaac says is "oh mommy" and "oh daddy." You just have to hear him say it to understand how incredibly sweet he sounds when he says it! Another favorite Isaac quote is "bye-bye doggie," "bye-bye cat," "bye-bye baby," etc. He has to say bye-bye to everything. It is really cute. Some of Isaac's favorite words/interests this month are: Nanny (when he sees a motorcycle he thinks of daddy who he still calls Nanny), pig, tow (for cow), dog, tat (for cat), shoes, and bus. Isaac absolutely loves school buses. On the way to daycare in the mornings, we point out every school bus we see, and Isaac yells "bus, bus." Isaac still loves shoes. He wants his shoes on during every hour he is awake. First thing in the morning he says "shoes on." He also loves to put on his little frog rain boots. He can slip the boots on independently, and will just play with them on for hours. Isaac still has an obsession with dogs, and is becoming more comfortable around them. When we go to the Reed's house, Isaac lets Oliver and Millie lick his hand and his tongue (which is disgusting).

Isaac likes to be a little helper. He will help me bring in the groceries from the garage, help me dust, and help me sort laundry and put laundry into the dryer. He likes to do whatever we are doing. One night his daddy was sitting in the living room chair with his feet propped up, so Isaac decided to prop up his feet like his daddy. It was hilarious! Isaac also likes to help his daddy work on projects in the garage. Isaac has an interests in the tools. However, he usually just ends up pushing around his stroller, which he loves to do! Isaac and Daddy have another fun thing they do together. Isaac will stand on the fireplace. He then puts both hands with his pointer fingers out and points them quickly to his Daddy (a technique he gets from his Uncle Eric, aka Shooter McWhitley). Then he runs as fast as he can to Adam, and Adam throws him up high in the chair. Isaac of course says "more, more" and makes his way back to the fireplace so he can repeat the process. He just giggles the whole time!

Isaac enjoys music. Some new songs he likes are: "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands," "Wheels on the Bus," and "Bingo." The first song on a CD in our car is "Bingo." As soon as that song is over and the next one starts, Isaac immediately said "dog, dog," because he wants to play "Bingo" again. We sometimes hear that song 4-5 times on our way to his preschool. Once we pull into his school's parking lot, Isaac immediately says "Tay" who is one of his school buddies. As soon as he walks into the classroom, he gives Tay a hug. Isaac's other buddy is Dhavid. I have been told that they will stand at the 1/2 door with just their heads peeping over and shake their heads to make their hair flop around. Now if I just ask Isaac, "what do you and Dhavid do at school?" he just flops his hair and smiles real big!

One of my favorite things Isaac has starting doing this month is recognizing the Bible. He says "Mommy's Bible." He is able to distinguish it from other books. I pray someday he realizes his own need for the Lord's Word and the significance of the Bible. When we sing, "the B-I-B-L-E," he screams "Bible" at the end.

Isaac is so much fun, and such a blessing to us. We are privileged to have him as our son!

Some how I have missed your last three posts until today. I wonder if my blogger is not updating when other people have new posts?
